moses on Team Spirit: “This team looks like a contender to win the Major.”

Analysts Jason “moses” O’Toole and Alex “Mauisnake” Ellenberg appeared on a new episode of the Snake & Banter podcast, discussing the achievements of Team Vitality’s management, Team Spirit’s significant improvement, and the form of Natus Vincere sniper Igor “w0nderful” Zhdanov.
On Team Vitality’s management
moses: I believe Team Vitality’s management is the best in the world. I think they made several smart moves that helped assemble the current roster. The team also acquired ropz without any issues. But I’d like to highlight specific decisions that, in particular, helped apEX develop in the role of IGL. This shouldn’t be taken for granted. This also applies to the fact that mezii remained on the roster instead of Spinx. I brought this up because, in the context of our recent discussions about the era in Counter-Strike, we were comparing Team Vitality to the old Astralis. In my opinion, Astralis did many things that Team Vitality is unlikely to be able to replicate. Nevertheless, from an organizational standpoint, Team Vitality’s management could outshine that Astralis. The next question is whether the team will be able to bring the era to a dignified close, extend it, or whether it will end in complete failure, like the previous ones.
On Team Spirit’s performance at PGL Astana 2026
Mauisnake: Team Spirit’s performance at PGL Astana 2026 drew particular attention. The team looked better than ever. And this is the best result Team Spirit has achieved in its entire history. I’d say they performed even better than at the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024. It’s like night and day. And this is a team that has reevaluated its strategies and put in a lot of effort to use grenades effectively. In practically every round, donk got a guaranteed kill on the attack.
moses: In my opinion, this team has players who are capable of making it really strong. I haven’t looked into the details yet, but I’m glad this team looks like a contender to win the Major.
About w0nderful
Mauisnake: At the start of 2026, it seemed like he had regressed, which is very strange. It looked like he had lost the confidence he had built up over the course of the year. It feels like this guy is trying to get his bearings. That said, his mechanical skills are always on point. Then, with two-thirds of the season behind him, he shows the best version of himself. I don’t know if there are any statistics to back this up. It’s as if he always has a slow start, and then everything falls into place once he gets used to the system he’s playing in.
Team Spirit became the PGL Astana 2026 champion, defeating Team Falcons 3-0 in the grand final. The “Dragons” finished the first Dust2 in overtime—16-12. They then solidified their lead on Mirage (13-7) and Ancient (13-10). Danil “donk” Kryshkovets was named the tournament’s MVP.
